October 6, 2007, participating KMW Official
Training Centers around the United States and Canada will all be
teaming up with the non-profit philanthropic organization STOP
CANCER for the second annual Krav Maga Fights Cancer FundraiserTM.
All proceeds from the Krav Maga Fights Cancer Fundraising
Seminar will be donated directly to the Marni Fund, Fighting to
STOP CANCER in Memory of Marni Levine (1969-2006) who died of
complications due to breast cancer.
Krav Maga Worldwide began Krav Maga Fights Cancer FundraiserTM
in honor of Marni Levine. Marni, one of the founders of the
multi-national organization, passed away on August 31, 2006,
after a long and courageous fight against cancer, leaving behind
a loving husband and two young daughters, ages 10 and 13.
Marni, like millions of women around the world, fought breast
cancer for many years. Over the five years she was sick, she
never complained; she only wished that researchers may learn
something from her sickness and death that may save other women
in the future.
Marni’s strength resonates in the Krav Maga Worldwide community
of licensed training centers and instructors around the world
and emboldens us to continue her fight to find a cure for breast
cancer. In 2006 we raised over $66,000 for the Marni Fund. The
goal is to raise more than $50,000 for cancer research through
Krav Maga seminars to be donated to a National Cancer
Institute—designated comprehensive cancer centers. These funds
will be matched by receiving hospitals with an impact of
$100,000 toward cancer research.
