View Full Version : Broomfield Phase A was awesome!
I had the distinct pleasure last week of going through Phase A at the regional training center in Broomfield, CO. The head instructor, James Hiromasa, was fantastic. John Hallett of Rocky Mountain Krav Maga in Castle Rock assisted, along with James' wife Shannon. They provided great supplemental instruction. Of course it was very difficult at times, but it was an amazing experience.

I can only echo those comments. WOW what an experience. It was the most difficult, most enlightening, and most rewarding thing I have done since I have been involved in Krav Maga. James presented everything in a clear, precise, and exciting manor that made training with him a privilege. If you ever get the chance to come to Denver and train with James, it will be money well spent.

Phase A was my favorite!!
James, Shannon, and Hallet in the same room. Mix in some Dennis, Sr. Kirk, and Jeff Jimmo........ah, the good ol' days...

Phase training in Broomfield with James, John, and Shannon was a great experience. The instruction was top-notch, and the trainers demonstrated genuine concern for each participant. Most importantly, I came away feeling that my skills had improved substantially in a very short period of time. Without a doubt, I am looking forward to any training opportunity I have with this group in the future.

Can someone give me a brief description of what this phase training is and what it entails?
Thanks

Phase training is for those who are training to become instructors :D . My impression has been their training gets kicked up compared to training as a student.
Phase training is the instructor certification process for Krav Maga, and \"kicked up\" doesn't quite describe it compared to regular class. Phase A consists of six days of training for about 8-9 hours (including lunch break), and on the seventh day you test. You perform all the yellow belt combatives and self defense techniques you've been shown, and you're evaluated on your teaching. Very difficult, and an amazing experience. Definitely not something to be taken lightly or done on impulse.

I want to personally congratulate every single person that attended the Phase A Certification here at the Krav Maga Worldwide Regional Training Center in Broomfield, CO. Although not everyone who attended made it all the way through or passed in the end, every one of you showed heart and a perseverance that most people could only dream of achieving. What an outstanding group of candidates you were! To those of you who didnít make it through, it was an honor working with you and I am looking forward to seeing your growth in the system and to seeing you back to finish what you started!
To those of who made it through; I have no doubt that you will carry on the tradition of Excellence demanded by Krav Maga Worldwide and do great things for the safety and confidence of a great number of people in the United States of America!!
See you all at Phase B!

KP,
Get to phase equipped with endurance, explosive power, and the ability to improve every single day. Give it 110% every minute you are on the floor and you'll be fine. Good luck!

I went to Phase A training in Broomfield, and unfortunately blew out my calf(3rd time in 1 1/2 years) on the 2nd day. Needless to say, I couldn't continue. The training with James & John was top notch. They both were very helpful with their critiques. Heard some great stories as well. Though the training is \"extremely extreme\", I plan on going back to finish what I started. Even with the limited time I was there, It really stoked my fire to heal completely, and get back to finish my training. Whether I go to back to Broomfield, or another location, all I can say is it's one of the hardest things i've ever done, and rewarding as well. The info that's thrown at the candidates, is second to none. Though I wasn't able to continue, I left with a new found respect for the Krav system as a whole, as well as for all the instructors that have completed Phases A-C and beyond. My best to James, & John, for a job well done, as well as the 16 other candidates that were in Broomfield for training. Hope to see you again sometime in the not to distant future. Good luck to all in your future \"Phases\".
