Muchisimas thanks to Trish for posting.
Kamabuko!

My avatar tells it all!
Frankly, I was irked at both those guys (BTW, my very first opponent was an injury default, so I should have had three matches). Red LITERALLY just crabbed up in my guard for 5 minutes (yes, that was a sloppy captain kirk on my part). Don't think he tried to pass once. You could see me working my butt off to lapel choke, kimura, sweep, etc.
What was just AS infuriating was the butt scooting in the first match. The guy, at one point, raised his hands to say, "WTF?" while he sat there. I gave him a WTF back and motioned him to stand. He stood shortly after.....and that's when I tossed him and lapel choked his a$$. LEARN A DAMN TAKEDOWN!!
Butt scooting and inactive guard passing....and some of these jits guys say krav is unrealistic.
Next is likely judo state championships. Keep ya posted.
They should have given the red guy a negative point or a warning or something for stalling like that. Even his corner was telling him to posture and pass.
Yo Rev, you going to do Mundials?

And yes, that's Yamasaki, as in Mario Yamasaki, of UFC fanfare. That's one tough camp, BTW!
Speaking of east coast grappling, Yasuhiro Yamash!ta, the Rickson of judo, recently did a seminar at Georgetown judo.
One of the only reasons I miss[ed] the [L]east coast.

Congrats. How is a BJJ match like that scored? Your opponent seemed to be tired and not doing a whole lot while you were up on your feet and very energetic. Do you get points for takedowns and pins?

you gets points for takedowns...passing the guard....getting mounted position.....sweeps. You also get advantages for attempted submissions.

Way to keep your cool and listen to your corner. Very nice!!!!

Rev,
How long have you been doing JJ and what belt are you? (I'm at work I can't see youtube).
I just started last week, pretty tough stuff. I feel pretty overwhelmed at how technical it is but as I practice I'm sorta smoothing out I guess.

Stick with it, dude!! That gi felt very constricting at the beginning. And being a wrestler, I DESPISED working from the bottom. I feel pretty decent in most positions now.
Started training with a gi late 03, early 04, but wrestled for a bit before then and did some no gi work since I started krav. Been a blue for over three years now. Began a serious focus on the coveted purple now for over a year.
But I love judo too, though. My friend, Jeff Jimmo, turned me on to it a few years ago.
And now they have dubbed me the judo smurf......bastards.

lol Judo smurf...
Krav is the only thing I've pretty much commited to and been doing it for 8 months now. I wanna compete though so I started doing BJJ. No ground work background. I feel so damn uncoordinated doing it lol. I guess I felt like that with Krav in the begining and now I feel super smooth in Krav. Meh whatever, keeps me occupied and there's only room for improvement... maybe injuries, or ringworm... yaaa
