Hi guys,i was wondering for those of you who train at the krav maga center in LA,what are the fitness classes like?Do they incorporate any plyometrics in the classes and medicine balls or the swiss ball?

Hey there.

I attend there as well and recently added the fitness classes to my routine. Here is a run down of the ones I have done.

Cardio Bag - By far the most intense class out of all the classes I have taken there (way moreso then the basic Krav classes). Basically, you start out doing something to get warmed up, either shawdow boxing or jumproping. Then you go through some stretches then into the cardio routine. This is essentially moving to the music while doing punches, kicks, jumping jacks and so on. Then you put on your gloves and do the bag part where the instructor shows you a combination and you just beat on a bag.

I promise you that when the hour is up you will be very greatful...and very sweaty.

Cardio - Basically an hour of doing the moving to the music thing while doing various punches and kicks and so forth. Very few men take this class for some reason. Guess they don't think it is very manly. Personally, I don't care. It's a good workout and whenever I am the only man in a room full of women I am not complaining.

Yoga - There is one Yoga class on Tuesday nights. Forget the guys name who teaches it but it's a good class if you are into that. I like it, in a few weeks I felt much more flexible then before.

Muscle - Haven't taken yet but I think that is where they use the medicine balls.

Personally, I think that the extra expense to take the cardio classes are very much worth it. I had been doing Krav Lvl 1 for several months and was not seeing any results physically, until I started adding the cardio. So far I have lost about 12 pounds in a little over a month (of course, I started dieting too which has an effect).

Hope that answered your question.
