Default My knuckles hurt!

Hi everyone,

I recently had a KM class where we were punching not exactly pads but kinda bags with two handles.

Anyhow the next day my knuckles were sore and red. This was the only thing that hurt after a tough class. I may be a wimp but Im thinking I would like to avoid this in the future. Can anyone recommend good gloves. I was thinking of something like this

Thanks

Revgear is what I got and was required by my school, but if you have a choice, I'd strongly recommend Fairtex or Hayabusa Fightwear MMA gloves. I've used the Hayabusa Fightwear hybrid/sparing MMA gloves with good results, and I've seen a couple of commands purchase Fairtex MMA gloves for use during Marine Corps Martial Arts Program training. Everlast is OK, for what you pay for them, but get the competition gloves (generally 30-40 bucks) and not the cheap ones. Not all MMA gloves are created equal.

Cheers for the tip Timmy, I have put the Hayabusa Fightwear MMA gloves on my wish list on Amazon. Think I am also going to get this also as the reviews seem to be pretty much good including some reviewers who do KM:

Most of the people at my training center end up buying these.

Good for both bag work and sparring as they are rated as equivalent to 16oz boxing gloves.

Go for these they are the best

Also I would suggest upgrading the cup to this one
http://www.amazon.com/Shock-Doctor-M...ef=pd_sim_sg_8

I have had several of the stock shock doctor cup crack the metal one rocks.

Cool gloves bear34 and thanks for the tip in regards the cup oglenewinkel.

Just wondering what do you think when some people say that the jock setup from my link is a better setup than the cup placed in compression shorts of your link?

I read that the jock setup keeps it in place a lot better than the compression shorts alone but may be a small bit less comfortable, like these reviews of the jockless version:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R89VSRW...wasThisHelpful

I've no idea what I am talking about in regards these setups so correct me if I am wrong but having the jock seems advantageous.

Cheers

p.s. the titanium cup looks like a good upgrade but I wonder would it be heavy in comparison?

I haven't tried the Jaco cup but I hear a lot of MMA guys are using it. It's similar to the Shock Doctor with shorts but it has velcro straps attached to the cup to cinch it in place.

LoL well the more I thought about my post the more I thought that a cup is almost as personal of a purchase as a mouth guard. The statement that all men are not created equal comes to mind. I seem to be happy with the Shock Doctor but it my fit me better then it may fit Don or Timmy. I guess you have to try one or two to find what fits best. i have always thought the compression shorts feel and fit better then the cheek strings. I prefer the steel cups because my other style is Kajukenbo and the groin is primary target so you take ALOT of kicks. We have 5 other male instructors in our program and everyone is issued the Shock Doctor and no one seems to complain.

I guess the main point is were something.

Be safe and train hard.

I dont think I want to watch a video if you talk about the size of your ding ding and your ability to shift it around in the same post as the video. Lol
