What Is the History of Krav Maga?
Krav Maga was created by Imi Lichtenfeld, a Czechoslovakian man who was chosen by the Israeli government to create a self-defense strategy for soldiers. Lichtenfeld had plenty of experience with boxing, wrestling, and street fighting. He learned many of his fighting moves from his own father, and thanks to his street smarts and keen body awareness, he was able to begin developing the effective system that is now taught by thousands of Krav Maga instructors all around the world.
Who Is Darren Levine?
Darren Levine is the founder of Krav Maga Worldwide and an expert in the system. As a prosecutor and head deputy of the Target Crimes Division in Los Angeles County, Levine proudly serves his community by targeting violent criminals and training Krav Maga instructors who can help teach others to stay safe. He has a sixth-degree black belt in Krav Maga and has trained with Imi Lichtenfeld himself. In fact, Levine is one of two Krav Maga instructors to receive a Founder Diploma from the creator of the system.
