Are you ready to learn a self-defense system that features proven-effective fighting techniques? If so, you’ll be excited to learn about the self-defense programs we offer here at Krav Maga Worldwide.

Our organization develops training and fitness programs designed to increase strength, improve self-defense skills, and hone intuition. Founded by Los Angeles District Attorney Darren Levine, who has a sixth-degree black belt in the system, Krav Maga Worldwide is proud to have licensed over 150 Krav Maga instructors in training centers around the world.

What Is Krav Maga?

Krav Maga is different than other self-defense programs in that it isn’t a traditional martial art. When you practice the system, you won’t be worrying about performing beautiful rituals, forms, or other choreographed moves. Instead, you’ll be learning efficient and swift methods of defending yourself that have been tested on the battlefield. There’s a reason this Israeli defense system is the number-one fighting method of the Israeli Defense Forces and the U.S. military. Even law-enforcement officers are now being taught Krav Maga because of its effectiveness.

The focus of Krav Maga is on learning how to protect yourself from a sudden and unexpected attack. The system teaches how to defend against strikes, throws, chokeholds, and grabs. Advanced classes teach about disarming and defending against an attacker who has a weapon. On top of learning the physical moves, Krav Maga will also help you develop the confidence you need to stand up for yourself in a variety of situations.

What Self-Defense Programs Are Offered at Krav Maga Worldwide?

Entry-level Class

If you’re just getting started, this is the Krav Maga class for you. Here, you’ll be learning the basics of self-defense, including punches, kicks, and headlocks. Since this class provides the basis for the future of your practice, it’s important to make a strong commitment. If you train two to three times each week, you can expect to complete this course and test for the next level within about four months.

The Yellow-belt Class

This course will advance your current self-defense system by adding a number of additional punches, kicks, and counterattacks to your repertoire. You’ll also begin learning other helpful skills, such as how to properly time your moves and judge the distance of an oncoming attacker. If you stick to a regular training schedule, this course should take about six months. At that point, you’ll be able to test for the next level.

The Orange-belt Class

The orange-belt level is mostly about strengthening the skills you learned in the previous two self-defense programs, but it will also lead into learning more advanced moves, such as how to disarm an attacker with a weapon. You’ll be spending about nine months practicing at the orange-belt level if you train two to three times each week.

The Green-belt Class

This class is very advanced and will take about a year to complete. It’s designed for those who want to take their training to the top and become as knowledgeable in Krav Maga as possible. You’ll continue to learn about disarming attackers, but this class will focus on attackers with highly dangerous weapons, such as guns. You’ll also learn how to handle an attack from more than one person.

The Blue and Brown-belt Class

If you reach these levels, you should congratulate yourself! You’ve gone further in the world of Krav Maga self-defense programs than most. In this class, you’ll be working with other advanced students on sharpening your skills. You’ll learn how to protect a third party that is being attacked as well as ground fighting and other high-level defense moves.
