Hey! I’ll be getting my first semi-private Krav Maga instruction in a week or so and I’m psyched. I’d love to get the most out of these classes. Any advice from the experienced?

If you’ve never done any other martial arts or fighting sport, you’ll probably go over moving in your fighting stance and learn how to punch. Maybe a defense against a choke as well. Should be exciting and it’ll only get better. I remember my first couple of classes, I learned something new everytime! Have fun and tell us how you liked it!

Whatever basics you go over (stances etc) really try to nail them because its the foundation. What I have found with Krav is everything you learn is used unlike some other martial arts where you learn something THEN it’s application and/or slight variation.

If you learn the basic fighting stance, you’ll be using it all the time.

Just had the first lesson. You guys were right on the money. We covered stances, punches, hammer punches, knees, elbows, and defense against a choke. I’m definitely looking forward to more.
