CSI: NY Knife defense

Ok folks I was wonedering if anyone saw this weeks CSI NY where the Marine was stabbed in the Park. They showed the flashback of the Marine helping out a girl being assaulted by her boyfreind and he pulls a knife on the Marine. The boyfriend tries an downward stab toward the Marines chest and the Marine blocks it with both arms (cross wrist I think) thin grabs the badguy’s wrist, disarms him and does some fancy arm \”thing\” and knocks the guy out. I KNOW I did not discribe this sequence correctly but I thought it was interesting, and definately not Krav-like.

Anyone see this? Any comments?

It’s an application of a traditional cross-block. I did them in lots of TKD katas, etc. Supposedly that’s what they’re for, but few realistic knife attacks would seem to be well blocked by such a defense.
