In honor of those older (post 35) members, here are Dr. Suess’ thoughts on the golden years.
The Golden Years have come at last.
I cannot see.
I cannot pee.
I cannot chew.
I cannot screw.
My memory shrinks.
My hearing stinks.
No sense of smell.
I look like hell.
My body is drooping.
I have trouble pooping.
The Golden Years have come at last.
The Golden Years can kiss my ***.My thanks to the Gen Xers for paying my social security.
If you think that’s unfair, remember–Life’s not fair, that’s why bras and jocks come in different sizes!!

Alamocitykid,
I’ve got an 8 by 10 poster of an old man and woman with that slogan (poem) on it. One of my daughters gave it to me for my 60th birthday (I think it was my 60th, who cna remember ~ darn senior mooments). I had it on my dresser for quit a while, but when we moved my wife made me stow it.April 28, 2008 at 9:35 pm #65423miriamMemberRe: Dr. Seuss on the Golden Years
I may not be there yet, but I offer the lyrics of one of my all-time favorite artists, David Bowie, from his great song, “Golden Years:”
Dont let me hear you say life’s taking you nowhere, angel.
(Come, get up my baby)
Run for the shadows,
Run for the shadows,
Run for the shadows in these golden years.
I’ll stick with you baby for a thousand years.
Nothing’s gonna touch you in these golden years! -
