I just passed to level two and am looking for ways to improve my reaction time with kicks when sparring (especially front, back, and roundhouse) and also my accuracy. I tend to forget my legs are an option. Are their any drills anyone might recommend for doing on my own at home?
I currently jump rope, do a TRX plan, and use Rutten’s 30 minute workout.
Thanks in advance.
Re: Kick speed and accuracy drills
Which Bas routine are you doing?
Re: Kick speed and accuracy drills
The All-Round Workout CD. It’s a combo of shadow boxing, push-ups, sit-ups, tuck and jumps, jumping squats, etc.
Re: Kick speed and accuracy drills
Try Thai boxing cd, it will get you used to the combos ending in a kick which will transfer over to sparring.
Re: Kick speed and accuracy drills
Awesome…thank you!
Re: Kick speed and accuracy drills
Start it on 2 min rounds, during rest time do Hindu squats the entire rest. The squats plus 30 mins of kicking will kill your hams/quads/glutes.
Then when that gets easy up to 3 min rounds with above formula.

Got it. I’m hurting already thanks!
