I recently read this thread and thought it was pretty interesting. I have the same issue. Just wanted to get yall’s thoughts on it.
Re: Punching
Well I know that after doing Bas tapes I invariably end up with the knuckle of index fingers rubbed raw (blood dots all over my heavy bag) and I think this comes from (like one of the posts says) me getting tired in the late rounds and my form getting sloppy on hooks. I bet if I videoed a session I would see my elbow dropping and not rotating my hips as much.
Re: Punching
Bingo! But also it could be as simple as your hands are not used to it and are getting rubbed raw… Or your bag is cracking and its cutting you up… or your form like you said. The bag is ideally a flat surface, but as it gets worked over it can buckle as you hit it causing it to “wrap” around your fist as you hit, meaning increased friction on the skin.
