This may be a dumb question, but when did any of you long-time KM folks start feeling PROFICIENT at this?

I know I’ve only been training for 15 months, but I still feel like a spastic monkey in class than a semi-skilled practitioner.

My weak points seem to be chokes with push/pull/against wall (both directions), side kicks (I’m not flexible and can’t side kick above my waist), and some of the groundwork stuff. One of my instructors has shown us L2s some cavaliers, and I really suck at them.

I can only get to 3 classes/wk and am considering trying to find another L2 to meet occasionally to practice some of the stuff I’m having problems with.

I personally view my proficiency by techniques and not necessarily the system. Every time I get introduced to a techinique, my view on my proficiency resets.
