In just a few weeks, Krav Maga Worldwide will be hosting their annual cancer research fundraiser titled “Fight For The Cure.” All proceeds will be donated directly to the The Marni Fund in memory of one of Krav Maga Worldwide’s founders, Marni Levine (1969-2006), who passed away after a long and courageous fight against breast cancer.
Following Marni's passing, Krav Maga Worldwide held it's first Fight For The Cure fundraiser, the proceeds of which helped plant the seed funding for The Marni Fund. Thereafter, a substantial Marni Fund three year research grant was awarded to Dr. Melanie Palomares at City of Hope. In 2007, as a result of growing support, additional grants were made to Dr. Sara Hurvitz at UCLA/Jonsson and to Dr. Christopher Haiman at USC/Norris.
A short time ago some of our Krav Maga Worldwide staff had a chance to visit the USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and see some of the work these amazing doctors are doing.
These are the real front lines where the Fight For The Cure goes on. Centers like USC/Norris strive to make major advances in the treatment and/or early diagnosis of cancer. To date, The Marni Fund has raised over $970,000 to fund research efforts like this.
Come out and contribute to this years Fight For The Cure events with the Krav Maga Worldwide family.
