When it comes to taking self-defense lessons, Krav Maga is a bit different from your average martial art. While other martial arts focus on form and self-restraint, Krav Maga’s self-defense tactics focus on function. Our lessons are reality-based, and born from simple principles, instinctive movements and practical training regimens.

We don’t want you training for years before being able to protect yourself in a dangerous situation. With our students’ training and careful attention, our teaching strategies help them reach a proficient level in the shortest time possible. Not only do we train our students in self-defense, we focus on our students’ abilities to identify and avoid dangerous situations.

Is Krav Maga for Everyone?

Krav Maga Self-defense Classes

Though Krav Maga’s popularity has grown with the U.S. military and law enforcement personnel, it is better known as the official hand-to-hand combat system of the Israeli Defense Force.

However, if this revolutionary self-defense program seems too challenging for the average individual—someone who wants to sharpen their mind and body, or pick up a better workout routine—don’t worry. Krav Maga is perfect for students of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and experience levels. No matter what you hope to achieve from our self-defense tactics, we are here to help you reach it.

In fact, we have various levels in our self-defense program so that every individual gets the attention and proper guidance that they need to succeed including five traditional levels, a special level for sworn officers, and a youth program.

Krav Maga’s Basic Self-Defense Tactics

When it comes to the actual self-defense tactics taught at Krav Maga Worldwide, let’s start with the basics. Overall, Krav Maga teaches self-defense that is used on the battlefield and on the streets. By learning to defend against various attacks, students will be able to protect themselves and avoid dangerous situations. When running isn’t an option, we teach aggressive combinations of punches, kicks, knees, and elbows so our students can fight back.

What You Learn at Various Levels

In Level 1, students will learn the basics of Krav Maga self-defense tactics, including an introduction to Krav Maga’s fighting stance, how to kick from a standing position, and how to defend yourself while on the ground. In Level 2, students will learn more in-depth ways  to defend against the attacks they practiced in Level 1, as well as counterattacks.

In Level 3, students will continue to hone these skills while adding more advanced techniques. They will also learn how to defend against guns and sticks. In Level 4, students will learn more advanced ground fighting skills and how to handle attacks from multiple opponents. At Level 5, students will cover all the advanced techniques that were taught before. They’ll also learn how to protect a third-party member while defending themselves.
