maybe try wrapping your legs…
when i used to box i would pound the lead-filled (or so it seemed) heavy bag until my knuckles bled, then someone put me on to wrapping them. makes a world of difference and you can barely notice you’re wearing antyhing

Its not like they wrote a novel and you figured it out in the first chapter. Itís a technical manual.
Maybe you just had a hard time understanding it? Your supposed to read the text and look at the pretty pictures to get an idea what the text is explaining to you.
Granted I havenít seen a copy yet, but I doubt its over my comprehension level. How about if I help you a little?

I am guessing that this is the first \”Martial Art,\” you have taken, and the first school you’ve been to or you would understand what I am talking about. But like I said, it seem KMWW is just in it for the money now and allows schools to buy the Rights to their name and run them any way they seem fit, without following a standard curicculum. THAT, is why the name is worthless. Some people have said here KM is better organized or regulated then other MA’s, that is because they will Sue your ass if you use the words Krav Maga in the USA without giving them a piece of the action. (Remember, Lavine is a LAWYER) Some call that regulating. I will concede however, if just anyone could use the words Krav Maga, it would be worse than it is now.
Let me reiterate my biggest gripe. SOME schools are in it for the MONEY ONLY, the school I attend is that way, they don’t give a shit about the art, or the students. And let me revisit another point, Making money is fine, we all have to earn a living, but to do it and let the art suffer and the students suffer, is wrong.
And the bottom line is half belts have NO purpose other then to make the school owners wallets fatter.

And Have a groovy dayAgreed. 😀 I wore mine for the first time last night and was 100% more comfortable going through the drills. I also think it added a lot to my partners training as his reservations for hitting me lessened. To that point, I think it there should be some mandatory requirements for protective gear. For guys a cup should be a must, there are so many groin strikes, the added piece of mind for both partners would be increased.
I also think I am going to start using a mouthpiece as I am still learning to get my chin out of the way and like my teeth 😀
Does anybody’s school have mandatory protective equipment rules? Ours has a rule that you need to wear official Krav Maga pants and shirt, which in my opinion is irrelevant. I think protection is a far more important.
For the most part I agree with OldKravDude, but like everything there are exceptions.
As a S&C Coach, I rarely recommend supplements aside from Omega3, multi vitamin or perhaps some Amino Acids and Protein.
In my opinion, the best supplement for working through your Krav Training is your overall physical conditioning. Get to the gym, get strong and build muscular endurance. Work hard every second of your training in Krav Classes and in the gym.
Think about this; There are varying reports about creatine use. Different people are effected by it in different ways. Some people note improvements in performance, some do not. Personally, as a trainer, I have used creatine (as I wouldn’t recommend anything that I wouldn’t do myself). I didn’t experience any positive effects. Again, different people will respond to Creatine and most supplements differently.
That said, everybody gains benefits from increased overall conditioning and fitness. There are no studies for or against it. Fact is Fact.
Lastly, heightened conditioning is something that lasts long after the supplementation boost that you receive through your Krav session wears off. It just isn’t as immediately accessible.

Not a direct response to your question…especially since I am a guy 😀 . However to vent a little, if you do order be prepared to be overcharged for shipping. It cost me $10 in shipping to get a T-shirt – it was not for overnight or anything special. I ship things regularly and am quite sure it should/could cost a lot less.
Anyway, done ranting…..
After replying earlier, I went through the DVDs again and found that the direction is nearly identical to how it is presented in class.
Another question; in the DVDs it is alluded to additional DVDs in the future. Specifically, there was mention of a focus mitt drill DVD. Anybody have any info on these?
