Re: Elevation Training Mask
I know some guys who are over in Afghanistan right now who use a type of Elevation Training Mask. The mask has mixed reviews by the guys I know. Probably not much help, sorry.

quote Tommaldinho:Hi I’m new to Krav looking for some advice on footwear….Boxing boots or wrestling shoes ….or martial arts trainers?? Any suggestions /experience greatly appreciated!I have tried a pair of regular old athletic shoes and had issues with stabilization. I kept on rolling my ankle. I have ankle issues anyway (have had a couple different procedures done to them). I now wear, and don’t laugh, a pair of minimus trail running shoes from New Balance. They have a zero drop and no heal cushioning, but they are light and keep you close to the ground making you more stable. Just what I like to wear.

KevinMack – Oh, no…I didn’t mean anything creepy by it. I just meant that I offer my advice when I can. Most of the time I get the young girls rolling their eyes at me. But no, I don’t jump out from dark shadows or anything.

Thanks for sharing. Sometimes in training I get caught up in the exercise, adrenalin, sweat, out of breath, etc. and I feel like I miss something. I think I can benefit from just sitting down and watching the mechanics of it all. Again, thanks for sharing.

Personally I think the warmups are the hardest part of class. I am getting better but they still kick my ass. When someone I partner up with in class seems like they are worrying about “hurting” me, I generally tell them to not worry about it. The way I look at it, if I can’t take the “hits” during a manufactured setting or with a pad, then I am probably in for a world of hurt if I ever get into a real situation. That being said, I DON’T go into class with the thought that “hey I’m going to hurt someone today.” However, I try not to hold back too much when it’s my turn. That statement may not seem to bad, but I might seem to intimidate some because of my size. I am 6’3″, albeit still a bit out of shape, and fat (about 300 lbs.), but hey I am working on it.

Yeah, I am trying to at least once a day just slowly go over by myself what we learned in the last session I wen to. I figure if I know the steps I can be that much more proficient and aggressive.

I have the same problem sometimes, however, most of it comes from me being a bit slow learning the methods and moves. I over think it sometimes and don’t let things come naturally. What I was told is that you shouldn’t worry about hurting your partner too much. They can defend themselves just as you can.
