hip hop just doesnt sounds as gansta in french…lol

I agree and I think it has to do more with the fact that we don’t understand curse words in French (at least I don’t).

    Re: Krav Gloves

    quote Kirsten:

Ahh… More coffee needed I think. Well along that line let me expand on my post just a bit… I noticed these have more length for the fingers and that can inhibit your ability to make a strong fist when punching if you have smaller hands. My old KM gloves are the same, and I wear my mma gloves under them to offer more support. They do not change my striking angle at all.

Do you feel like you are changing your striking because of using this glove?

I agree with you regarding the finger size. I feel its harder for me to clinch my fist. And as a result during extended Mitt work, my fingers are sore. Also, I have noticed with these gloves I have to be reminded to punch with my top two knuckles.

    Re: Krav Gloves

Hey Kirsten, I love to read your comments and look forward to your insight. I was asking more along the lines, if the glove had a different shape and if so, did that translate into a change in the way you ‘Clinch’ your fist, or angle your wrist while punching.

    Re: Wraps in training

Can any one relay their experience with wraps while doing activities other than striking. i.e. chokes, grabs…etc. Does it restrict the wrist movement and does it hurt?

Re: Training with gloves or not

I used to not wear gloves or wraps. To me wearing anything of the sort meant, I was creating weaker wrists. But the more I started punching I the more I realized it was necessary.

You would punch or use your wrist far more in an hour of class, couple of classes a week, than you would in a real life scenario. This regular abuse starts taking its toll on the joints. And like some one mentioned ‘Hand’ injuries take a while to heal.

    Re: Level 1 Test

I appreciate all of your comments.

I am very proud of my self and my wife. She is a tiny little thing 5′ 2” and she went through the whole test without quitting. She has never been involved in any intense physical activity before Krav. And yesterday, she confessed, that she wants to go all the way to Black Belt.

As for my self I took the test with Asthma. Just finishing it was an accomplishment, but now with all the aches and pains, I hope I don’t have to retake it…HAHA

I know I got sloppy with my techniques, some I couldn’t remember and some I couldn’t perform coz I just about ran out of gas.

Yeah, I pre-ordered around Feb and Amazon sent me an email couple of weeks ago saying it was going to be delayed.
