IKMA, Imi’s school, was the original creator of the Kouf Mem logo. When Darren Levine brought Krav Maga to the United States, he brought the kouf mem logo here and formed the Krav Maga Association of America which was granted exclusive rights to the kouf mem logo in the United States. Krav Maga Worldwide, as the exclusive school headed by Darren Levine and directly in Imi’s teaching lineage also has rights to the kouf mem. So if you want an Imi original logo, the kouf mem is it.

Re: krav maga is not effective in real life !

Millions of Jews, Law Enforcement Officials, Military Personnel, and civilians would disagree. But this is a free country and you can have whatever opinion tickles you. rofl2

Re: Advice on Heavy Bag @ Home for Training?

For years I have been training with an 80lb everlast Omni Strike Heavy bag. The weight is good plus it has foam wrapped bottom panel allowing low kicks and G+P. Additionally there are handles to stimulate a Thai clinch when training allowing you to work on knee strikes. I have limited room in my place so the stand is not too big, which initially caused it to slide around. To remedy this I put 40 lb dumbbell weights on the three stand supports and my issue was solved. Hope this is helpful and happy training!

    Re: Bad Sparring

That is some nonsense. If your partner is unwilling to respect your intensity comfort level, and the instructor doesn’t do a thing, don’t spar with that guy despite any pressure you might get to do otherwise. Unless there is a full and mutual understanding that sparring is to be full intensity it is unacceptable to do so. Good fight instructors I have had permanently kick students out of the class if they go too hard after either being asked by their partner or warned by the instructor to tone it down. A core principal of Krav Maga is to go home safe, and while definite risks are inherent with training in general, deliberately creating a dangerous training environment is bull****.

Re: Should i give it a try?

It is highly practical and super effective. Military and law enforcement train with the system, and I have heard numerous people tell me stories about how the skills they learned from Krav Maga literally saved their life in a real violent conflict.

Re: I can’t kick above the waist!

If you are unable to kick above the waist, that is your limitation. Focus on making your kicks within your reach zone as strong as possible and rely on those as well as other combatives. Imi developed Krav Maga for anyone to defend themselves, regardless of age, size, gender, or other limitations. All Israelis are obligated to serve in the military, so the system must cater to and work for everyone.
