quote Relli Kant:Can anyone tell me what happened? Was he sick, or was it an accident? He was so young, it’s shocking to hear. Rest in peace! 🙁Haven’t been around in while, I read about Thierry Viatour first, wow. I watched a lot of his videos from seminars and sent my brother in Belgium to meet him in a seminar last year. Shocked!
Like Relli; what happened? I haven’t found anything explaining it.

Thank you, I really appreciate the replies. The garbage that roams around our cities is incredible guys, LEO knows it because they deal with it daily in most cases but we regular folks usually don’t.
Train well and train hard every time you take class, sh*t like this are around us all the time like these 2 brothers.

Very nice, i wanna work on those takedowns after the video…
Good pace, movement, you also cross training in wrestling ?
I want to try a comp soon, no where near a purple yet. Ill go in the novice category.
Talking about BJJ, funny thing with BJJ and Krav, not sure how it is in your gym but in ours for people starting out white/green we do some self defense moves as its required to move up. During the first month, I started last year we did the bear hug defense, I only had practiced it in there maybe 2 times before, it looks somewhat similar to the Krav defense, mind you this is straight out of Krav for 1 1/2yr, they pull me in middle of class with everyone in circle around, they pick the biggest guy to bear hug me at 100%, well I couldn’t pull off the Bjj move, adrenaline was flowing , within seconds without a thought Krav kicked in, he got a head butt, an (almost) groin kick reversed and pulled his left leg from between mine while crouched and was about to twist his leg while he was on his butt.. Immediately in my head i said shi** they going to hate me real quick after this. The instructor immediately said “STOP”” “what the Fkk was that” “I better not do that on the belt test” i said, “i don’t know I just reacted, my bad” i have never told them I did any type of MA before. The guy wouldn’t roll with me for weeks, he was pissed off, had a black eye for a while. I apologized plenty of times, he was still pissed. LOL
After that I almost had to pause for a sec everytime we did a self defense move, RNC, Bear hug, guillotine, hay maker..
I still miss Krav dearly.. wish someone would setup a decent, dedicated Krav shop here in central FL soon.

It’s a tough one for sure and I think about it almost every time i leave to train (BJJ for now until decent Krav shows up here in central FL). I try to make the time i’m with them 100% of what i can give, take random day off training and surprise them going out somewhere, try to minimize extra time while training like hanging out too long. I have a son, I sometimes take a full day off work and training, take just me and him to zoo, theme park or anything along those lines he really enjoys.
It’s always like anything in life, balance.

Man I got to hook up this lady with my old man, I won’t have to worry about his safety! Also, was it Teflon?

One thing for sure that lady had balls like no other there, what a firecracker.
In other reports I have read, the complete incident took I believe 6min and by the time the 911 call ended the BG had already shot himself. Their chief of security was not supposed to be there either, he was dropping in to check on a gift donation program he had initiated or managed for children. One of the things he commented in his press conference was that he was very concerned he just shot someone in the back probably going to jail and what would people think of him now because he was known as the Santa, he was taken to hospital after due to hart rate. Great stand up guy. Those people, at least a few definitely are still here because of him.

I was incredibly relieved when I heard no one was hurt in this incident, death/injury was very, very close to those people. Thank God.
I attend board meetings regularly here in central florida and been in that setting many times, they are very lucky they had their chief of security in the building and armed, he was also former police officer, didn’t hesitate and was accurate shooting.
In most of these administrative buildings here in FL you’ll be lucky to have 1 armed security within 10miles range.
I have never felt secure in a high visible target with daily disgruntled patrons in and out, especially in this economy/job market, now after this, even less.

quote kravmagaschooled:I think he should be doing disabling his account for that card. And then talk to the company about it. That’s really messed up. The guy could use the credit card to spend millions. That’s why I always kept my CC safe.
Kravmagaschooled, a good tip bit to know also is that they don’t need to keep your card physically to use it. There are many victims that fall to fake CC readers in gas stations, those movie boxes everywhere, private ATMs and more along those lines. That’s not even mentioning online, that’s a whole different world.
I think a good tip is to try to use your CC when you can instead of your ATM/visa check card if at all possible. Pay it off end of month or right away and it’s same $$. Many ppl ATM/visa chk card is linked to the bulk of their cash and paycheck, if it’s stolen it will be some days until you get a new one and if you where carrying little cash with you on a weekend, well… you know those banking hours.

Is this a home grown system labeled KravMaga by the instructor? Is he KMWW, IKMF or any other Krav organization trained?

quote havok904:Ken Brayman is opening another Krav school. The new location is in Sanford at 3953 St. Johns Parkway.
The other location is in Orange City….@ Premier Martial Arts
Is the instructor KMWW or other Krav certified? What level? I looked on web page but I don’t see anything about KravMaga, only primarily kids Karate/TKD programs.

June 28, 2010 at 1:36 pm #80618kvmorlMemberRe: Marines and Krav
quote unstpabl1:There was a Marine who use to post here regularly while active. he was brown belt in MCMAP or better. USMC doesn’t train krav they train in their own system and it wasn’t taught be krav instructors. However in most cases a punch is a punch and the higher up you go the more you see the similarities.MCMAP is not the old USMC LINE stuff, which is basically WWII Combatives whose roots go back to the Shangai police, a British subject. the British organized and trained the Jewish resistence against the Nazi’s. the Palmach and Haganah were taught the WWII combatives that the Allied forces used such as the OSS. This influenced Krav and hopefully MCMAP
Check out the video in my original post. It’s not only the punch that’s looks very similar.
