Re: What is the true standard of KMG?
I’m an IKMF student and the information he has about Eyal and KMG is utter crap. I would train with Eyal at the drop of a hat if the opportunity arose.
Waste of time.
Enjoy your training and train with as many people as you can (from different Federations as well).

Why do those websites always have home pages that go on forever. Red flags! Lol

Nice work! Enjoy your vids and look super sharp running off the ps3 and youtube app on my tv!

quote bgnamsxb:Hello people, I am practicing Wing Chun at the moment but a friend convinced me to try Krav Maga. But since this self-defense is very expensive in Germany + I dont have much time to visit Wing Chun AND Krav Maga courses at the same time, I want to practice it online.
What do you think about http://38.de/2d6 ? Is it worth a try or not. Any experiences so far with online courses?Regards!
I’d get your hands on some good quality DVDs to give you a taste of Krav Maga (mastering Krav Maga by David Kahn or ultimate Krav Maga hosted by Duncan Pattle from kravshop.com). Kmww DVDs as well. After wing chun class, grab some mates and drill what you have picked up from said DVDs!
Or, leave wing chun altogether and invest on KM. I suspect if you effectively do the first option, then you will naturally progress or be keen to do this!

Impressive list there Kevin!
If you had IMI on that list you’d be close to yelling Bingo!

quote ari-free:Well, it’s not just about proving it to me. I’m sure you have pretty good skill. But how would an instructor know if someone else can effectively perform the technique unless they use it against a resisting opponent? Don’t you have protective suits for this kind of training?Enough talking, more doing.
If I lived in your area, I would have already visited numerous schools mentioned in an earlier post.
Enjoy your time with Krav Maga. I’m confident that once you find the right school, you’ll just be another convert! :box2:

First two vids are tactical Krav Maga guys (Itay Gil aligned). I doubt they’ll ever say something nice about ‘traditional’ Krav Maga.

quote 9×19:Thanks for the honest posts. I think I’m going to just buy some real km videos and train with some friends but also go to the CKM occasionally to practice with different people as well.I would invest in the videos, but avoid the ckm (my opinion). Maybe try something else like judo, Muay Thai or jkd instead if you can’t find a legitimate KM instructor.
There’s just too much info about ckm that should serve as a massive red flag for you. Buyer beware as they say.

I wouldn’t live and die by sparring as you have rightly pointed out, some partners don’t match intensity appropriately (you both should agree on how hard you should go).
Sparring is still simulated, so that guy aiming to catch your leg will have a rude shock when trying to do the same in a more realistic scenario.

Kevin, you gotta start working on that book!Too true.

I’ve never trained with gloves apart from sparring. I guess I’ve never really had a hand injury either. I can see both sides of the argument, personal choice (as long as it is a responsible choice).

In sport ground fighting, probably better than knowing nothing at all.
In real life, it could save your life.

Kevin
Just re-reading this thread… You should seriously write a book about the history of Krav Maga… Don’t know you personally but judging from what I see here I reckon you’d put out an unbiased and definitive history of our beloved system (and it’s many families and branches).

Scottie
Get em all if you can or start with David’s Mastering set first.
