Krav Maga Levels
This entry-level class is designed for all new Krav Maga students. The goal of these self-defense classes is to teach the basics of self-defense and fighting. Students will learn Krav Maga’s fighting stance and movement, various punches, kicks from standing position as well as from on the ground, elbows and knees, and how to defend against punches, chokes, headlocks and wrist grabs. Students who train an average of two to three times per week should expect to complete the curriculum in four months before testing for KM Level 2.
Level 2 (Yellow Belt Students)
In this intermediate level class, students will continue to review and hone the skills learned in KM Level 1, as well as learn additional punches and kicks, punch defenses with counterattacks, kick defenses, and defenses against various chokes, headlocks, and bearhugs. Technical elements such as distance, timing, and alternative targeting are introduced in this level. Students who train an average of two to three times per week should expect to complete the curriculum for this level in six months before testing for KM Level 3.
Level 3 (Orange Belt Students)
These intermediate, self-defense classes sharpen the basic techniques and allows students to expand their knowledge of Krav Maga attacks and defenses. In KM Level 3 students will continue to train on strikes, defenses against strikes, and self-defense, including more advanced techniques that involve defending against weapons such as guns and sticks. Students who train two to three times per week should expect to be eligible to test for KM Level 4 in nine months.
Level 4 (Green Belt Students)
This class was designed specifically for more advanced students interested broadening their skill sets. In addition to the tactics and techniques learned in previous levels, students will encounter higher threat weapon defenses, deal with attacks from multiple opponents, and learn more advanced ground fighting skills. Students who train two to three times per week should expect to be eligible to test for KM Level 5 in twelve months.
Level 5 (Blue And Brown Belt Students)
This class is for advanced students only and covers all of the advanced curriculum including fighting, ground fighting, advanced self-defense, all weapons defenses, and third party protection. The self-defense classes in this Los Angeles-based course are comprised of some of our more skilled Krav Maga fighters.
Law Enforcement (Sworn Officers Only)
This class will teach defenses against a variety of armed and unarmed attacks relevant to peace officers. Use of force issues will be incorporated into the training. Our Law Enforcement class is designed to help law enforcement officials further develop their skills and learn Krav Maga on a practical level.
km-X™ Kids Self-Defense (Krav Maga Worldwide™ Youth Program)
The km-X™ kids program focuses on teaching practical and effective self-defense in a fun, dynamic, and encouraging environment. Based on the Krav Maga system, it is different than traditional martial arts. km-X™ stress function over form and is designed to bring kids to a very high level of proficiency in a relatively short amount of time. km-X is offered at a variety of levels for kids between the ages of 5 and 13.
