    Hi all,
I’m a 16 year old New Yorker with no formal Krav Maga background beyond the scary amount of reading and solo training I do thanks to my dilapidated MMA bag and rather bruised brother.
I have an extensive action sports background including a lot of time spent rock climbing, kayaking, playing tennis, and trail running. As far as martial arts go, I have a basic jiu-jitsu and Kano Judo background, as well as an unfortunate amount of street experience (The seventh avenue line isn’t what it used to be:)
I also happen to be a neuroscience researcher and neurology nerd, so I hope to be of some use in those areas.
Although my current situation precludes me from training formally now, I hope to expose myself (that came out wrong) to as much reading/viewing material on Krav as is possible so that I may come into training (during college) with a solid background. Speaking of which, does anyone know of any good Krav places in the Boston area, preferably within walking distance of either Harvard or Kenmore Square?
I appreciate the help, and look forward to being a valuable part of the community.

Welcome to the board! Youre from NY and you’re going to school in Boston?! Are you trying to give your parents a heart attack?!

Not sure about Boston, but there should be some KM places in New York. Just google it, some are not affiliated with this organization here, so they wouldn’t be found on this website.

    Good luck!

I think the poster means their in High School and can’t take class till they go away till college. Good Luck on Harvard.

The book you want to find is Complete Krav Maga by Darren Levine. Its a manual of the belt techbiques till Brown or black. Really well done

    Good Luck and welcome

Hmm GK, I don’t know why people think I shouldn’t be on the Welcome Wagon:dunno: Didn’t we kinda start it:D:

Let’s face it, we’re too “inflammatory”, we’d scare the new people. ;):
