First as if training with Bas and Oneness isnít scary enough let me start off by saying I was totally unprepared for whats taken place these last few days. Typically Iím one of the bigger guys in the room but when the guys from what used to be called SEAL team 6 and now called ìDevGru the Gold Teamî started filing in with their gear I got a little nervous.

Then Bas announces we are going to do the new 5 minute round work out as warm up I knew I was in trouble. 6/8 five minute rounds (I lost count) doesnít sound like a lot but um yeah it is. Especially when youíre doing in it a big circle surround by these guys who looked like they ate raw meat for breakfast. To say we went full out is an understatement.

Without going into too much detail what was worked on we did combatives ala Bas and broke for lunch where I proceeded to get into a little knife on knife fight with their platoon leader. ñ Whose bright idea was that?

Today was more of the same except we did circuit training THEN the 5 min Bas CD then combatives taught by Bas and Oneness. At one point this 6ftOMGHUGE 300lb guy was doing knees into me and I was catching air every time he hit the pad. I’ve never felt so much like a ragdoll in my life.

Broken, battered and beaten Iíd just like to say thank you to Bas and Oneness for allowing me the opportunity to have the **** kicked out of me by the best of the best the US Navy SEALS DevGru Gold team. Who painfully redefine for me the term ìhigh speed guysî

2 days down, 3 to go.

Uhhhh….. No really detail please unless it violates some NDC or something. What was this all about and how in the heck do you get to train with DEVGRU!
That is crazy man. Any more info would be great!

From what I understand DevGru uses the BRMMA program to train their H2H combatives. So if they have a no-fire ROE order they are basically doing Bas’s Complete Combat System. Bas and Oneness had these guys working their ass off. 🙂

We took it to a whole new level for the last session to day. Wish you were there.

Great group of guys that put everything into every drill or whatever we are working on.

The material taught to this group was a combination of all that we teach in our BRMMA instructor program levels 1-5.

They already had an completed one week of the BRMMA system last year so this week was less technical and a much higher pace program. We aimed to reinforce everything that was taught to them last time and build even more.

Since this was questioned in a previous post and to save someone a trip to xtreme couture to see if the MMA fighters are learing the same techniques and concepts, I will say that we did teach our krav maga 360 defenses 3 and 4 and also our exact counter against a left straight with an inside defense. Now mind you in the BRMMA system, we don’t call them 360 defense, but they are the same blocks.

It was great to share ideas, become friends with these guys and get some insight to what they do on a daily basis.

I’m not going down this road again; I’ll just add that KM makes a distinction between 360s and extended hook defense, for a reason. Everything else I said in the other thread, regarding 360s and inside defenses, I stand by.

You know what, forget it. It is silly to do this here, and I still think we are dealing with semantics. I have nothing else to say on the subject. Everyone should train what makes sense to them.

I think thats a good idea, I guess I missed something, Im not sure this is the right thread to have this discusion.

Considering this is a conversation about some really important training getting to some people who really need it. Just for the sake of clearing up semantics does it really matter WHAT its called? How about ìuniversal combativesî

From Navy S.E.A.L.’s to Arubians! These guys love their training in Aruba! We had almost 60 people attend One’s seminar today and I can’t wait to come back! If you guys ever get the chance to go to Aruba, DO IT! 🙂
