    Hello,

I’ve been doing krav for about 10months and have experience in other martial arts. One of my knees happens to be knock kneed and I’m finding it difficult to piovit on punches and kicks. Any tips?

    Re: Issues with Knock Knees

Sometimes, taking a cheat step and “pre-loading” the knee can help. You may not be able to generate as much power as a full pivot, but you should still be able to make an effective strike.

I feel you. I have flat feet, knock knees, and am near sighted. What I did/continue to do is overcompensate. Exaggerate your technique (hip movement, footwork, pivoting, etc.) when practicing at home and in the mirror in class. Take it slow. Build the correct muscle memory so that when under pressure/at full speed your combatives will revert back to a more optimal/efficient range of motion for your body.

For instance, really grind out that cigarette on your punches, make a table on your round kicks, spring up on your knee strikes. This concept is based on a more general martial arts concept called tracking.

Whoops, just realized this thread (not the replies) is spam. Apparently my brain is knock kneed. I will overcompensate for that now.

Last thing, I’m knobby kneed, not knock kneed. Got confused. In fact, this whole damn thread’s confusing to me.

Who are trained by a master they have some ground rules. so this will be very helpful for them if they make any mistake or break any rules. so this will be the best examination for them.

I think the best option is to take complete rest and get rid of the knee pain first; otherwise it will disturb you throughout your martial arts practice and create troubles for you. So consult a good doctor, get rid of this and continue with the practice.

    Thanks
