    Hello everyone,

I have been practicing Krav Maga for over a year now and I love it! I’m currently a P1 student but hope to graduate to P2 asap. As I said I love Krav and I feel it will be part of my life for a long time. I was wondering if there are any intenive courses (one or two weeks) on the market for a relative beginner such as myself. I know there is an course you can take in Isreal (touring and training) but I was wondering if there are any others (for instance in the US or Europe) I realy enjoy the classes and maybe even see myself one day being a instructor. I would very much like to hear from students that have experienced intensive courses or instructors that give these courses. Also, people that have done the Touring an Training in Israel, could you maybe tell me something more about the course. It looks realy cool but I’m afraid it might be to much for me because of my level.

I’m from Holland so if there are any Dutch students on this forum let me know

    kind regards,

    B

    Hi B,

I’m from the UK too, just graded for P2 in September. I’ve heard great things about the tour adn train and would love to go when I get the chance. There is also City Extreme but I’m not sure if it’s open to non UK students but it would be worth you finding out as again I’ve heard it’s excellent training.

    Hey Kior,

Thanks for the info, I’ll have a look at city extreem, overhere in the Netherlands the do organise seminars from time to time but nothing realy longer than a couple of hours. I would realy like to see how far I can push myself during a course that takes more than that, but I’m only P1 so an instructors course does not really apply to me. Don’t you think touring and training is advanced for a P1 student. I would love to do it but…

    kind regards,

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

From what I’ve heard the tour and training is done at a level appropriate to your experience so if you’re P1 they aren’t going to have eight dudes with guns and sticks attacking you! I met a girl at class a while ago who had gone with her boyfriend on the trip and got bored of watching him so she joined in, having done no KM before, and now comes to class reguarly.

My only concern would be if you’re physically fit enough to hack it as it’s ten days in very hot weather, so if you feel that might be too much then maybe wait a while.

    Hey Kior,

I have send an email to the city extreme people asking about the fact that I’m not from the UK. My physical condition is quite good (I think) but I have no idea if it is good enough for T&T. It looks realy cool.

    thanks for your help!

I have a silly question…. What is all of this P1, P2 stuff about? I have never heard those terms used in my school. I assume it is a ranking system but is there a thread that explains it better?

    It’s the IKMF ranking system, it goes like this;

    Practitioner
    P1-P5
    Graduate
    G1-G5
    Expert
    E1-E5
    Master
    M1-M3

Gotta admire those Europeans and their facility with languages! Seems like they can converse on this forum in English without missing a beat, too bad I can’t return the favor :wav:

    Hi DevilNuts,

I’m a member of the IKMF. we use a grading system with a letter/number combination. P stands for practitioner (P1 – 5) these are students. then there are 5 Graduate levels (G1 – 5) People with G-levels are often instructors. than you have the Expert level (E1- 5) these are for advanced high level instructors only. These instructors are often also military, swat of special forces trainers. Finally you have the Master level. But I don’t think there are any levels (1-5) when you are at this level. have a look at http://www.institute-kravmaga.co.uk/grading.asp for more info.

    regards bob

It’s sad, isn’t it, SDKraver? How we’re all separated by a common language? 😉

I think I can take this as a compliment right?? I’ve been studying International Business and Management for the last couple of years (which is in English) so English has become almost easier as Dutch.
