Braces

I am an adult with a new set of metal braces on my teeth. I am interested in trying Krav Maga but with no mouthpiece to fit over my particuliar dental work I am concerned. Is it inevitable that I will get hit in the mouth sometime in level 1 training/testing? Thanks

I had braces for years in my martial arts training (when I first started, I punched myself in the mouth doing an uppercut elbow, cutting my knuckles open on the braces). For sparring, I used a regular boil mouthpiece and it worked just fine.

I have been in krav maga for 16 month and karate for 10 years. Never been punched in mouth. If it was me, id put some wax on the braces before class, just in case. Ask your orthodontist they should have something for you
