In all honestly, it really depends on the individual, how much you train, how quickly you pick up the techniques and so on. The current KM book has some guidelines, but to me that’s all they are. For instance, Yellow Belt it says 4 months assuming training at least twice a week. For Orange it says 6 months, also assuming at least twice a week.
Hubby and I got our Yellow Belts in 3 months (I think) and Orange Belt in 6 months. Our Green Belt training has taken longer than the book says (9 months). Life gets in the way, injuries, etc so it’s really all up to you. It’s not a race to get a belt. You’ll know when you’re ready.
