Hey guys, I was wondering when you guys train KM?
The reason I am asking is I have been wanting for quite a while to start training in KM, but whenever I look at the schedule at the local centers I can’t come up with more than one time a week that I could make it to class. Since I obviously can’t attend day classes due to work, that leaves evening and weekend which are already extremely hectic, and when I do get some free time I try to spend quality time with the kids. I just can’t bring myself to pay the kind of money involved when I know I will only be able to attend once a week.
Does anyone know of any centers that offer classes in the mornings? When I say mornings I mean like before work, maybe class from 6-7am or something like that. That is about the only way I can think of that I would be able to regularly attend class more than once a week. I currently use that time for working out (because it was the only time I could fit that in as well), and I think KM would fit very nicely there on an alternating day schedule with working out.
I personally think there might be others out there who would attend such a class during that time as well. Either new students who couldn’t have fit it into their schedule otherwise or current students who have difficulty fitting classes in. A lot of people do their gym workouts in the early morning before work, so maybe the same is true for KM.
I emailed my local training center with the suggestion for a morning class, with no response. I was wondering if there are any centers out there that offer a class in the early morning that I can point them to as an example as a successful offering.
Thanks guys.

awesome. can you speak to it’s popularity, i.e. approximately how many people attend that class vs any other given class?
March 7, 2006 at 3:52 pm #45342nancypantsMemberWe have morning classes six days a week:

We added the morning classes to our schedule last October and it seems to me that we might even have more people in the mornings than the evenings now.

cool, I was hoping that might be the case.
March 7, 2006 at 6:03 pm #45346chicochiMemberDoes your local school have a km-x program? It seems that lots of parents at our center come with their kids. The kids to km-x class while the adults go to their krav class. Seems like a good way to combine family time with your own personal time (and, of course, it would make for some kick-ass iittle ones). 😉

What is the lowest age allowed? My oldest is 3 and I want to get her into some sort of self-defense in a couple of years.
March 7, 2006 at 6:29 pm #45348little-looperMemberAs far as SF goes, and I only know what I have been told since I am usually asleep or out walking the dogs, but they get a core group of about 9 for each class.

March 17, 2006 at 3:57 pm #45545nancypantsMemberWell, it’s 7:00 am somewhere in the world… 🙂
I actually feel like there’s no better way to start your day, even if I *do* hate myself briefly when the alarm goes off.
