Hello From Hartford, CT

Hello friends. About five weeks ago I decided I was going to take Krav Maga classes at the age of 66. Part of it was nostalgia: I was in the best shape of my life when I took Kenpo over thirty years ago. Krav Maga sounded more direct, immediate and useful. I joined a dogo in E. Hartford and am studying with Rick Koehler. I’ve survived five weeks of it and am losing weight.

Koehler is aware of my age and past injuries, etc., and lets me work at my own pace. I’m making it through most of the PT — although I have to stop once and a while, and I’m progressing with the combatives.

The atmosphere of the dojo and the other students are diverse and really decent people. I’m looking forward to the posts here.
