I tried doing some research, but didnt come up with anything, so I figured I would see if any of you know.
What is the percentage of knife attacks that are fatal? I know that in most cases you will probably end up getting cut, but it would be interesting to know, and also probably a good mental advantage to know that you probably wont die if you get cut. That way you may be able to relax a little more in the confrontation, and preform the defense correctly and not just freeze up.
In the vast majority of knife attacks the victem didn’t even know he/she was stabbed until they saw blood.
It is also worth noting the average number of actual stabs in one study was seven for fatalities. For us, read it this way, you will probably get cut the key is to react and STOP the attack before it becomes fatel. So long as the attacker does not hit a major blood vessel or vital organ, you can live through the initial attack. KEEP fighting back and stop the attack…..
