Hi – does anyone here have experience with taking “Krav Maga with Escrima” classes?
I know a licensed Krav Maga center that offers a few of these “Krav Maga with Escrima” classes per week. It’s supposed be supplementary training mixing Krav Maga and Escrima. From what I’ve heard, it’s meant to especially to hone your close-range skills (the instructor says that it’s much closer-range fighting than typical Krav).
Any experiences / comments?

Never heard of it. Is it under a Krav federation of some sort?

Not sure if you were looking for a certified Krav training center or not, but House of Champions Academy of Martial Arts in Van Nuys teaches Eskrima (“Filipino Fighting Arts” on their website) and something similar to Krav (“Steet Smarts” on their website).

Sounds like a good idea. I wished we’d do more stick or knife fighting, gives you at least a basic idea on how to handle such a weapon.

I have trained in Escrima for about 3 years and Krav Maga for about 2 1/2.
They are different schools. Empty hand fighting in escrima is similar to Krav Maga, but
Escrima one trains first with sticks, as a training tool to be able to fight empty hand and also wth a knife. Escrima really focuses on footwork. They use a tri-angle foot movement patern, and focuses on efficiciency of movment. I feel that they both complement each-other. -
