I was interested in classes around the Boston area. How does one find a qualified instructor? Does anyone know of a good school? Anyone hear of Gershon Ben Keren?

I find it funny that the Krav Maga gym is on Pleasant street.
Kind of like a gun range on Serenity Lane.June 25, 2010 at 12:45 am #80595unstpabl1MemberRe: Massachusetts Krav Maga
I’ve worked out with the guy in Nantucket. He is an extremely giving person. As an instructor Steve is very patient and knowledgable. He is a grinder meaning this stuff wasn’t easy for him and he gutted it through to learn krav. Because of that, i think it gives him a great perspective that ultimately serves the student and not the instructor’s EGO
He came out here for an instructor’s course and instead of taking a higher level class and making the most out of the trip, Steve hung out in an L1 class with me making sure I got the most out of it. Can you imagine what he does for his own students

Thanks so much for the kind words, Mike. Hanging with you in that L1 class was one of the highlights of my trip!
Newguy – The problem is that althought I’m technically in Massachusetts, I’m stuck 30 miles out to sea on Nantucket Island. I don’t know what’s going on with the guys from Krav Maga – Boston but I will say that I’ve worked out with them before and they are great instructors (Dennis and Shawn). Their studio was in Malden.
Best wishes!
Edited to add: Don’t believe what Mike said, btw – I’m a natural! Skilled, gifted, handsome and pretty much the reincarnation of Bruce Lee himself!

OK, So I live in Pittsfield MA and go to school in the Springfield Area (Western Mass). I need to learn Krav Maga but obviously cannot travel 100 miles to Reading, Watertown, etc. Or 30+ miles to South Deerfield. Are there other schools in Western Mass? Is there any way to learn?
