As a Krav Maga Instructor and a Coach with Tony Blauer, I can probably help clarify Tony’s quote that was used, and its right along the lines of John’s initial response. Tony’s uses that quote to highlight the fact that a sparring session is very different from a street attack, where both parties are aware, prepared and consent to the fight. Thats all, Tony has no problem with sparring and like John recognizes it’s value when utilized appropriately in ones training progression and development.
With that said, to say sparring has \”NO\” value in improving someone’s ability to defend themselves is just absolutely foolish.
