    Eternal thanks to “McJitsu” McCready for filming and overall support.

    You live by the judo, you die by the judo I suppose. Wasn’t completely disappointed by the outcome, considering I decided to compete pretty last minute. My strategy was so focused on staying on top that I had neglected the possibility of having to work from the bottom.

    ALL feedback is welcomed.

    On a related note, muchas gracias to Oneness and Bas for pimping my leglocks last week! They will definitely come in handy. I promise to clear my schedule next time you’re in town.

    AND FOR GOD’S SAKE, let’s get Bas working on Version 2.0!!!

    Can’t wait to watch the video, “AFTER” the US Open. But congratulations on havine the cajones to compete and putting it on the net to watch. Many may critique, but few do. Only take advice from people you know have your best interest in mind, everyone else has their own ego’s and agendas

    Can you give an overview of the 3 fights. Like how points were scored and what type of rules. I know those are the World Jujitsu championships( BJJ). Got the armbar in the first fight, but wasn’t sure about the others. My ignorance. I’m with Sean about the floor and owning a labrador

    Re: My matches at the Mundials.

    Okay, finally got a chance to write this out:

    Match 1: Well, obviously, win via armlock. Think I was up
    18-2.
    He flopped, meaning a Takedown for me=2 pts
    Mount=4 pts
    I flopped messing up a trip= 2 pts for him.
    Single leg takedown=2 pts
    Back heel trip/tani otoshi= 2pts
    Back mount=4 pts
    Mount =4 pts.

    Match 2: 7-0.
    He pulls guard and tries to triangle me (1 advantage, which isn’t really a point really. Kinda like koka and yuko in judo).
    I escape triangle and pass his guard=3 pts.
    I almost locked in a lapel choke from north south a couple times= a couple advantages for me.
    I mount= 4 pts.

    Match 3: Lost 20-8 or I think. I’ll do my best to keep score.
    I score a SWEET UCHI MATA!!=2 pts.
    He tosses me while going out of bounds (should have defended till the end)=2 pts him.
    I mess up a foot sweep and land on my back= 2pts him.
    He passes my guard=3 pts for him.
    He passes ? guard again=3 pts for him.
    He passes ? guard again=3 pts for him.
    He passes ? guard again=3 pts for him.
    He mounts=4 pts for him.
    I reverse and pass guard=3 pts. for guard pass.
    I almost mount, and pass guard again?=3 pts.

    It was among the toughest non-black belt brackets in the entire tournament. Nearly 90 guys in my category alone, which meant you had to win 7 to win it all, 6 to medal.

    WAS SO CLOSE TO AN ARMBAR FROM HEADLOCK IN THE END!! Oh well. I went down fighting. I’ll be more aggressive from guard next time.

    Hope this helps.

    Very intense, pleasure to watch. La Rev – you are aggressive, resourceful. 1st match was a classic. Overall – great effort, congrats. Sounds like you have good attitude and know what to work on. Best of luck in future tournaments.
