I’m new to Krav, started in October and love it. Any suggestions for practicing at home. I have a free standing wave heavy bag which seems ok for punching bit its not great for kicks and knees. Any inexpensive suggestions?

    JDinNc,

A free standing kick bag is what we use at Krav Maga Maryland (see links below) and I like them a lot. You can do punches and side/forward/round kicks. This place has a ring to practice upper-cuts. I’ve never used that ring but, maybe it can be used for knee kicks. -Just a guess on my part. BTW: I’ve never gotten any satisfaction out of kneeing any kind of bag. The best solution is a partner holding a kick pad.

PS: If you get your own bag, be careful to learn proper techniqe first lest, you spend countless hours training and enforcing bad habits.

    Have fun & train smart.

    Welcome to the forum!

A free standing bag works for practicing kicks, punches and elbows when you haven’t got a partner. I do that at my center when hubby’s not with me or I have some time to kill before class.

Like Ray stated, getting down the proper techinque is bigtime important. You may wanna consider the KM DVD set and Complete Krav Maga by Darren Levine & John Whitman for more pointers.

    Best wishes on your training!:wav:
