Re: New to KM @ NTC / Attire ?
hello again,
So we were told the same today, Krav gear only, and it will be enforced.
Whoever thought this one up should be ashamed of themselves.
Also, does anyone know if the “Kida” phrase said at the beginning and end of each session actually does mean “to bow”?

dunc,

I know during our tests we’re told we have to have KM shirts but I personally have never seen anyone be reprimanded for not being in all KM clothing. For hubby and I, the shirts are dang comfortable and we use them alot. Now on the pants – hubby and I buy those elsewhere and no one has told us not to.
Gear – in the beginning it was more convenient and a little cheaper to buy through our center. A couple of things we’ve bought elsewhere like wraps, gloves for kettlebell, cups, etc.

thank you simon for the link, and response.
and thank you mara jade for your responses too.
I’ve been getting my adidas pants from sports chalet for $30 and they feel much stronger than my Krav ones, which are a bit more expensive.
With the T-shirts, I’ve got loads in the closet, so I don’t really need any more.
That doesn’t seem like a radical position really does it?
Once I actually get good at Krav, I might want to see what it feels like doing the drills wearing regular pants, or a suit for example. (Ridiculous example, granted).
Maybe groundfighting feels different with a jacket bunching up around your shoulders and restricting your arm movements, I just don’t know.
How about you, you could be in a skirt and heels if the time comes to use KM. Not that I’m suggesting you wear heels on the padded floors, but you know what I mean.
Thinking about it, I’m sure I can train in street clothes if I check with the staff first, so scratch that as a real complaint.
Anyway, gotta go.
see you.
