NTC instructor meeting last night:

Just thought I would check in and share a little of our in house meeting.

Last night we had roughly 10/12 instructors for our monthly continual transfer of knowledge meeting. These meeting are held twice a month once at NTC WLA and one at SO.

Curriculum: Kelly C.

The material covered was level 1/2 emphasis on teaching points for techniques and sharing of drill ideas.

Different instructors were asked to come up and teach the technique as if the rest of us were beginners learning it for the first time. Then we were encouraged to ask some of the questions we had heard in class from beginning students and discuss proper responses in an open forum format.

Then randomly individuals were asked to come up and share drill ideas for that specific technique. Note that less time was spent on us actually doing the technique as discussing teaching points and sharing ideas on how to best convey the concepts to new students.

Additionally we discussed at length dealing with left handed students doing the same techniques and the best way to explain to them how to be a good partner for a regular footed partner.

Iím sure there is more Iím forgetting but just about everyone who was at the meeting has access to this section so maybe James or Jamie can shed more insight.
