Subject: In car video from pursuit/Shoot Out in Wharton County, Texas.
This in-car video was released just a few days ago. A couple issues that you may want to pay special attention to is the way in which the suspect parks and how he uses his vehicle for cover. It is ESSENTIAL that we continue to use our cover as well as this suspect.
I donít know, but surmise that he had received training on the use of weapons and cover. The video certainly appears to support this supposition.
Please continue to be careful on EVERY contact.

The Below link is the in-car video from one of the officers involved in the chase which ended in a shootout and Game Warden Justin Hurst being killed. The Jury found the defendant guilty of Capital Murder last week and gave him Death as punishment. The video goes out when a round from the AK-47 hits the camera. This all started from a stop where the defendant was going to receive a citation for shooting from the roadway.

I couldn’t get the link to work… but it may be my computer or internet that is the problem.

Regardless, it sounds as though it is a painful reminder that traffic stops can be one of the most dangerous things we do in our daily “routine”. Does anyone know if he had any military or LE experiance?

Hey Kirsten, try the link in the second post.

Dunno anything more about the incident. But it kinda reminds me of this oldie but goodie:

incident as reported by the news
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WO4ybMowYs

    incident with officer commentary
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VK2K7-w1BoQ

IMO, the BG was probably trying to get the officer vehicle’s airbags to deploy with the brake check. Also notice the controlled rate of fire. You can also see the gun fly up in the air in slow mo in the second video…
