since were on the topic of restraint check this vid out talk about places where to resist who knew cops in New Mexico were that disciplined. Vid could have gone without the commentators dumbs attempts at humor though.

Seen it a couple times. Scary to see in that position, but glad the officer prevailed.

    quote Munster:

I’ve seen that show before (Max-X) it is all about snide sarcastic comments. Sort of like funniest home videos, but there is more pain involved most times.

Not my favorite. Sometimes it is amusing and somewhat informative, but a lot of times it makes me cringe to much and I have to switch away.

I think it becomes a shoot situation once the suspect picks up the shovel and ignores verbal commands

The officer showed amazing restraint….almost on the verge of insanity !!

IMO, when it became a 2 on 1 situation, it becomes a deadly force situation. Clearly, the BG’s were attacking the officer and it could have gotten much worse at that point. I would have drawn my weapon as soon as I was able to gain enough distance/positional advantage to do so. The second instance where I see deadly force as being necessary is when he pulls the shovel out and takes a step towards the officer.

It is situations like this where officers die. Though the cop did a good job initially in dealing with the 2 on 1, he was too hesitant, IMO, about transitioning to guns.
