At the National Training Center, we have one gentleman who lost both legs below the knees and trains with prosthetics. Obviously, we make some adjustments in the training. He’s worked with both our KM teachers and our conditioning instructors.

We’ve also worked with people who had lost hands, arms, or at least lost the ability to use them. Also, we’ve done some work with people in wheelchairs.

There is a fantastic KM instructor in northern California who is deaf.

Do we actually have specific modified Krav Maga defenses for handicapped people? For example, someone in a wheelchair could do a pluck for a choke defense, but not the groin kick. Or he could redirect a gun, but it it would be harder to counter and move in deep. So, do we have specific exercises addressing those problems, or do we just make it up as we go along, working with each person individually?
