Not criticizing, but what is or where did this ‘ISH’ or ‘Dish’ sound come from when you make a strike in KM? Is there a purpose for it other than to expel air? Is there a more intimidating sound others make?
I just noticed a few doing this sound in you tube vidsAugust 9, 2014 at 5:32 am #89032donMemberRe: The ISH sound when striking
I’m more of an “eesh, eesh” kind of guy. One of my partners is more of an “ice, ice (baby)” kind of guy. My sarge is a “ruh, ruh” or “whoom, whoom” kind of guy. Bas is a “bang, bang, bang, dangeta dangeta dang” kind of guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKIm_E_joeg . Jim Carrey is a “kiyaii, kiyaii” kind of guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_vvI26NnwE CJ’s Dad is more of a “I’ll bleed you real quiet and leave you here” kind of guy… YMMV… 😀

eesh, yeah, that’s it. Didn’t know how to spell it.
vid funny as heck. “You didn’t attack me correctly”
“You didn’t keep your elbow straight when you attacked”
“I sparred with Elvis”
When I was taking a different ‘art’, there were many remarks like these. Thanks for the vid, Don, especially the Bas Rutten. I kinda like the “BOOM”

On 2nd thought, forget the boom, think I’ll go with the ‘huhh, hiuhhh, hiuhhh’ at 2:16 :box:
