You are already in the choke and instead of pulling straight down you pull the choking arm to the side trying to pry it out of the non choking arm. You would try to get it to slip down your neck and position the forearm on your neck. This would give you more leverage to pull the arm off. Another idea is pushing the non-choking arm up above your head and spinning out of the choke. Any thoughts on these or would they not work? Thank you.

Honestly…neither one of those defenses would work. Try it.
To paraphrase Imi Lichtenfeld after he asked my instructor to show him the Kenpo Karate defense to a front choke “I don’t think you have ever really been choked”.
After my instructor insisted that he had been…Imi reached across the table and choked him..very easily and very strongly. Thats when my instructor realized “I had never really been choked before.”Re: Thoughts on a RNC defense
