Just curious. Looking to investing in a pair to train in. Something with decent ankle support.

I use steel toe cap boots. Trainers are good, but the boots give you more speed and power in your kicks. Hope this helps

I wear Nike Free’s for mat shoes
For boots I like Under Armor Valsetz because they are so light.

Try http://www.otomix.com MMA Stingray boots.
Midsole for ankle support. Thin sole that allows twisting of foot during kicks and the shoe is very light

I have found your cheap ole court/running/workout shoes from walmart/big 5/ etc are fine.
Finding a pair of cool wrestling or high ankle support shoes is awesome, but is not the whole point of wearing shoes on the mat to simulate what you might be wearing in real life?
Otherwise the ideal training for your foot is no shoes as it add more grip, trains muscle control, and doesn’t allow cheating like shoes do…
Long and short.. save your money..lol and spend 20 bucks on a cheap pair.

I had a pair of Puma Future Cats I found in a suitcase. Wore those, and it seemed like it went well. Lucky me.

Squash or Racquet ball shoes can be a good economical option because of the increased side stitching!
