Anyone know how long you can let cauliflower ear go before it can’t be drained anymore? I’ve got a small bump goin on my ear from last week.

    Hey, Nate.

I had my ears drained nearly ten times over the last two years.

Permanent coagulation/disfigurement begins roughly within a week. Depending on the size of the hematoma, you’ll be lucky to get a CC out after that.

Oh, and find a doctor to do it. They don’t provide syringes/needles as readily over here as they do in the east coast.

    Thanks for the input guys.

Yeah I had a coworker volunteer to do some field surgery on my ear, but I declined and scheduled a doctor’s visit.

The earliest appointment I could get ends up being about a week from when I got the lump, so hopefully I can still get it to drain properly.

Hmm doctor said since it wasn’t discolored blue/purple it couldn’t be hematoma, and it didn’t feel soft. So maybe it’s not cauliflower ear, the doctor doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or it’s already calcified.

In any case, he referred me to an ear specialist to take a look at it.

And Christian, that picture is awesome.
