    Re: Failed level 1 test

Krav Maga testing is used as a tool for students and instructors alike.

For instructors to see certain areas that may need to be addressed over the whole class or just individually. This is a time for the instructors to really make sure attain the confidence in their students that they are ready to move on and can handle the more advanced curriculum in Level 2. It would not be fair for the instructor to place a student in level 2 whom is not ready. If an instructor sees that 1 or 2 things need to be worked on before you advance to level 2 it is for your safety and proper training that it is done this way.

For the student. He/she can self evaluate how they are doing in accordance to the rest of the class. Techniques can be tweeked and fixed to make sure they are in line with what is in the KM curriculum.

KM testing is not like Karate or TKD testing in that it is imperative that a base is set before a student moves on in KM. TKD and Karate can let a student slide through because their curriculum does not require that.

A lot of the trainers @ the NTC use New Balance. I prefer Indoor soccer shoes.

    KM & ATA

ATA instructors were looking for a legit selfdefense system to teach in their schools. KM was knowns as being the best. The ATA is always known for going for the best in what they bring in. In the mid ninties they brought in Gracie BJJ. Now they brought in KM. To answer your question ATA Instructors ( Not the Organization) came to KM to integrate SD in their programs. With all that said their have been several schools ( as many nonATA as well have done) that did not keep KM seperate from TKD. In order for KM to work effectively in anyschool KM must be taught as its own entity. This is the way that Mr. Levine and Whitman intended for it to be. This is the only way for KM to be taught effectively. My instructor (Master Dan Longoria) took this message very seriously. If you are looking for good school don’t count out an ATA school as many have done. A few bad ones have ruined the image of quite a few excellent ones. Check it out for your self.

[b]GET REAL AND START LISTENING INSTEAD OF BEING SO PIG HEAD

Mr. Whitman I appriciate your passion for the sactity of the organization, it’s roots, it’s goal, and over all image. People are not understanding that all of this must be in tact for Krav Maga to remain the premier self defense of the modern world. Darren, John and all the other (certified) KM instructors are doing their best to keep the honor of the Krav Maga name. The only way that this can be accomplished in the U.S. is to do what is being done w/ trademarking the name, and only offiliated instructors with similar intrests may use this name. Like John Whitman said if the name is not protected every Tom Dick and Harry will use it and ruin the name. If Eyal and Moni were so intrested in preserving the face of KM in the world they would be praising what Darren and Whitman are fighting to do. Mr. Whitman keep fighting the good fight.
