anybody???
Hopefully I will never get into a fight the rest of my life but one every 5-7 yrs seems to happen.I think groin kick and right cross would be good combo.

Yes. And it works. The old saying, “You will default to your level of training” is true. We train for stressful situations. Our training helps us prevail in those situations.

Yes I work in a prison and been attacked by inmates and the instinctual nature of krav makes you react qiuckly. Two palm heel stikes and a groin kick will do it.

There wasn’t any self defense training when I went through my states academy many years ago.

Now I’ll be serious. I am thankful to say I have never had to use anything I’ve learned in real life. Granted being a bank manager doesn’t lead to a very violent day job. However I also think sometimes people who carry themselves with confidence from being fit and trained just don’t get messed with. Maybe that has helped. Who knows….in the perfect world I’ll never have to use it but if I did I like to think the attacking guy is in for a surprise.

Today’s banks & big store chains tell their employees to essentially bend over
& take it when a criminal act occurs.I think any attempt at resistance by using your self-defense skills would lead to a spot on the unemployment line.A sad state of affairs indeed.

Unfortunately for our friend, my wife actually used the limited knowledge of KM she’s acquired from our women’s self defense program, to great effect.
The subject (our friend), came from behind my wife in a department store, and intentionally scared her. Due to some PTSD, her reaction was definitely not what he expected. She spun around and delivered a hammerfist to the bridge of his nose/forehead. She said that she realized it was him just before making contact, so she took as much power out of it as possible, but it still knocked him for a loop.Considering that prior to any KM training, her reaction to being surprised was to freeze, I am very pleased to know that in the event of a real assault, she would not hesitate to destroy anyone attempting to hurt her. It just sucks our friend had to take one to the face, though he knew of her PTSD issues, idiot.

Yeah, he doesn’t blame her, and admits it was a dumb thing to do. It’s always nice knowing that those you care about can take care of themselves though.

I think I use KM most moments of most days.
Last night, I was walking to the restroom in a comedy club. As I walked through, I did visualize how I would kill each person I walked by as I made my way to the restroom if they jumped out at me. Luckily for all of us, we never found out if it would have worked.
This is funny and really happened. I am not sure why the thought crossed my mind at the time, but I am just illustrating that Krav is also about the awareness and preparedness. In that, I truly do feel I actively use it all the time.

David, I had my moments where I was walking with my mom and I am very protective of my mother. Waiting for the bus or the subway for example, I have taken a mental stock of how I would have handled each and every potential threat ( there was no threat ) to protect my mom and I do that from time to time. Not only that I take into account how normal people would handle the situation and build in there a few things here and there to make it a strong defensive/offensive system for handling situations that would arise during the course of a normal day. The awareness and preparedness are key components but avoiding trouble in the first place is even better. Stay away from bad people, bad places and bad situations. You will do fine. It is good to prepare yourself physically but more importantly is how to talk and de-escalate things while keeping a sharp eagle’s eye on the situation.
