The question being of course how would you defend?
-In a scenario wher you are the goog guy naturally 🙂 –My first thought is a same side body defense and since you probably
won’t have time to bring your arm up just raise your shoulder.Other suggestions any one?
It was fast enough it functioned like a strike. If the \”defender\” (in this case, the bad guy) had his hands up, he should have done an inside defense with his left, but considering his hands were down, an outside defense would have been the best thing he could hope for.
Of course, the \”attacker\” was also very close to him…too close to really make much of a defense feasible. If the roles were reversed and it was a bad guy executing the technique, a trained good guy would have had his hands up, not in his pockets.

Metro did not follow procedure! Normally they would have shot the guy! Oops my bad, he was not black so no batons, bullets or excessive force required huh?!!!!

Personally, I think that black cop was using a bit of an aggressive tone with that clearly unthreatening and undeserving white guy. And why did he have to take him down so violently??? Totally inappropriate IMO !!! I’m calling the ACLU – Oh wait, they don’t represent white males.
I’ll bet there are lots of batons on whites and simple takedowns on blacks — A$$holes are a$$holes – Stupidity is not color blind, etc, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah …

How did this turn into a black/white thing? I just posted it because i thought it looked cool.
anyway, the guy’s hands were down. You know, near his pockets where a weapon could be. He was told repeatedly to raise his hands. He didn’t do it, that’s what he gets. I just thought it was neat the way the cop verbally distracted him right before taking him down.Re:

😆 Soapbox day – I have them now and again …
The ACLU is a joke – If you defend everyone’s absolute right to everything, it accomplishes nothing, except perhaps decimating the rights of others and the division of a Nation. They spearhead campaigns to take God out of the Pledge and God out of God Bless America – They argue cases of free speech for child pornographers … But is that really upholding the rights, sorry, civil liberties, and \”want\” of the majority of Americans? No, they’d rather impose the will of a very few on the rest of us … Scum. And scum for representing Nazi’s and KKK too … IMHO they are upholding a different version of the Constitution than I am familiar with, and doing so at the behest of a nation – They are almost always on the side of \”the bad guys.\”
Trust me – They’d never take the case … 😉

Back to the original issue… I thought that was pretty impressive. Hands in/near pockets would raise the hair on the back of my neck, whether it’s a big black dude or little punk-ass frat boy like the one in the vid.

Only thing I could see in this case, would be a defensive front kick or kick to the groin when the LEO started advancing; inside defense; or body defense (move off of centerline and evade or base for impact); all of which require a modicum of sobriety and reaction – he had neither
Now, none of that is appropriate against LEO – I’d go back to my original point – Limit intake of alcohol and comply with the police – Especially if you’re guilty of something !!!
Whole thing could have been avoided.

Those guys are ass clowns! They defend NAMBLA!!! WTF? The point of my post was that Las Vegas Metro police department is notorious for shooting \”suspects\”. Most of these unfortunate \”suspects\” happen to be Latino or Black. It’s a fact! Sorry. Now I am not anti-law enforcement at all. In fact I love law enforcement. But being from the hood I have seen too many corrupt cops to believe that they are all law abiding officers.
So this is why I have taken the following approach when stopped by the cops. I have limo tinted windows (byproduct of living in Las Vegas) so when stopped by the cops I simply roll all of my windows down and wait for them to approach the vehicle. I have all of the documents in an envelope in my car, by the way, this is the only item in my glove compartment, I greet them with a smile and address them as officer or sir if the officer in question is older than myself. Typically I find them to be quite pleasant and most of the time they let me go with a warning to \”slow down\” I drive fast, I’m from California we all drive fast!
If I were in this officer’s shoes I would have done the same thing. He asked the guy to remove his hands from pockets. He did not listen to the directions and he got dropped for it. Good police work IMO!
