Krav Maga: First Strike Videos

Hey guys, found these on Youtube.
These videos present basic Krav Maga from fighting stance to complex defenses as taught by Eyal Yanilov of Israel and our own Darren Levine…

In the first video the instructors straight left is clearly flawed. He continually drops his left hand immediatley after delivering the punch. Since this is an instructional video technique is paramount and must be correct and his clearly is not. He exposes himself to an overhand right or a straight cross, IMHO he would get knocked out by someone who noticed that fatal flaw.

Sorry dude – a rediculous statement. Next you’ll be saying his hand is too high exposing his floating ribs to an uppercut… :rolleyes:

The key is that his guard is up. Whether or not it is protecting the side of his head means nothing. The smallest of movements in either direction will protect both his head and his ribs. A hand at the side of your face hardly protects you from a decent punch. It’s body positioning that will save the day.

Until you are exposed to a real life scenario you’ll continue picking out points that are irrelivant and won’t understand the importance of movement and scanning.

Er….. I don’t know if you guys looked into this video poster but he appears to be a huge white supremacist.

Regardless, its a great little library for a newbie like me that wants to practice at home for class and the tests.

Nobody here. The guy who posted those videos on youtube. I know you can’t view. He has these vids and some other fight orientated content. It gets a little dark after that. Get the pun

That goes to the arguement of Do thugs train. Was on another forum where some guys were talking about the bikers they knew were doing MMA. They were cops. Not suprising that a Skinhead type would be into violence

You know the McDonalds coffee case comes to mind. Oh what wonderful justice that would have been if it had been a story in todays times.
