Actually, its a pretty decent raise and with everything going on for me right now (going back active duty, getting married, relocating, etc) I hadn’t even thought about the raise until this morning! It was nice to wake up and remember that little fact.

In the “Old Corps” an NCO (non-commissioned officer for your civilians) promotion was never official until all of the other NCO’s in the Marine’s unit “pinned on” the new stripes with a hard straight punch to the upper arm area where the stripes are worn on a dress uniform to the newly promoted Marine.
